PolicyIQ
Less document chasing.
More time for patient care.
The problem
A large hospice agency approached us with a familiar but urgent challenge: every admission required extensive documentation, often involving multiple rounds of follow-up between referring physicians and hospice staff.
Once a referral was sent, responsibility for gathering missing records, resolving insurance questions, and meeting compliance and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements often fell to the hospice. Referring practices had little incentive to manage the paperwork beyond the initial handoff.
The result was a cycle of phone calls, faxes, time on hold, and repeated document requests. Admissions could be delayed for days—at the very moment patients and their families needed timely, compassionate care.
The solution
PolicyIQ is an automated referral management system for hospices. Providers can submit documents, receive real-time feedback on missing information, and correct extracted details inline during the submission process.
Instead of starting with an unreviewed stack of paperwork, admissions staff work with organized source documents, suggested findings, and confidence levels. They can focus on verifying the evidence, correcting exceptions, and identifying what still needs to be requested.
The goal is straightforward: reduce administrative back-and-forth and reserve human attention for the decisions that matter most.
